GeoInsure

Geospatial Intelligence for the (re)Insurance sector

About GeoInsure project

The GeoInsure project’s main outcome will be a ready-to-use exploitation platform custom designed as a full stack of geo services and geodata products for the specific needs of the (re)insurance private sector with an emphasis on natural catastrophes (Nat Cat) and extreme weather events insurance and reinsurance activities. Although it might seem like a natural association, there are still important challenges to be met. To accomplish this endeavour, the team is highly invested into gaining a clear sense into what these are and how to best overcome them. Furthermore, the project is setting the groundwork for a larger Terrasigna initiative entirely dedicated to the (re)insurance market.

The project is co-financed by Terrasigna and the European Space Agency, through the Call For Proposals For Downstream Applications In Artes 4.0 and endorsed by the Romanian Space Agency as an important development action in the Romanian Earth Observation downstream commercial sector. As the proposal has been selected to be a Demonstration Project it will unfold over a total duration of 24 months, with the start in January 2022.
